Aim & Scope

Actual Sociology is a peer-reviewed, international sociology journal published semi-annually (June and December).

The aim of Actual Sociology is to publish research articles that explore, explain and discuss social phenomena, processes and dynamics from a sociological perspective.

Actual Sociology publishes studies that are based on research, contain original findings, and utilise theory to better understand social life and reality. The common feature of the articles published in the journal is that they present a new analysis and an original perspective, whether they examine a social phenomenon or process that took place in the past or today.

Within this framework, Actual Sociology is open to articles not only by sociologists but also by researchers from all disciplines who conduct research on social issues. As an international journal, it finds analyses on social issues from every region and country of the world valuable. It also encourages studies that make innovative attempts in terms of research techniques in order to reach up-to-date and fresh findings.

In order to clarify the social issues of Türkiye and the world, it is necessary for scientific knowledge production to meet on the axis of social benefit. In this sense, Actual Sociology cares about the side of academic studies towards creating common benefits, values and effects on the way to a more just, prosperous and equitable society, provided that it retains the autonomy of scientific thought. Therefore, it aims to reveal the power of sociological knowledge that brings together different experiences and enables societies to know themselves and each other more accurately.
